Our Winery

The essence of Bodegas Prieto Pariente is based on the old practice of viticulture in our land, and the expression of the terroir of Castile and León through unique and special wines.

The siblings Martina and Ignacio Prieto Pariente – third generation of the winery José Pariente (D.O. Rueda) – have traveled around the region in search for the oldest and most singular vineyards; from the province of Valladolid influenced by the Duero river, to the mineral hillsides of the mountain area Gredos. The aim is to create singular wines with their own personality and character, and with a profile of freshness and complexity.

The vineyard

The Province of Valladolid

The province of Valladolid has a great wine diversity. The old vineyards, with their special character and of low yields, are a reflection of the ancient viticulture in our region.
Due to our firm belief in the compatibility and excellent harmony of combining grapes from these areas, we decided to explore the province of Valladolid, which is crossed by the Duero river. We have recovered old vineyards, that initially were meant to be uprooted.

Sierra de Gredos

Our single variety red wine Confines de Prieto Pariente is made with Garnacha grapes from two old vineyards located in the mountain area of Gredos (Ávila). One vineyard is located in Cebreros and the other in San Bartolomé de Pinares, both at more than 1000 metres and with soils of slate
and granite.
We have chosen these two vineyards due to the two different soils. The granite provides verticality and finesse to the wine, while the slate gives minerality, volume and corpulence. The combination of the two soils offers complexity and balance to the wine, and the altitude gives acidity and notes of fresh fruit.
